Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes

It's running on PC but the graphics are representative of the PS3 apparently.

In short, expect massive cutdowns of course. Everyone with at least half a brain cell knows the PS3 is utterly incapable of rendering that sort of footage in real time. I don't know why Kojima is trying to kid us, unless he does an about-turn and says it's going to be a PS4 game.

If it was just cutscenes, maybe it's possible since it would be like one massive tech demo. But for actual gameplay, hahaha yeah right.



I'm fairly sure the canon voices for Metal Gear are the English ones.

Both are canon. English is more popular obviously due to the international audience.
 
Should be noted the PS3 struggled with MGS4 in places, and there was one particular cutscene it couldn't even render at all, and was shown in bink video format instead (the cutscene where Snake's mother dies).

Love the speculation/console bashing going on in this thread. I recall similar things being said when mgs4 trailers were released.

How about reserving judgement until you've actually seen the game with your own eyes lol
 
Hideo himself has admitted that he thinks the english voices are more natural. I read it literally years ago, so no source on that... just my memory lol.

Completely different stages of console cycle and like before was said PS3 struggled with MGS4. It isn't bashing, it is simply fact.

Going off that.

Regardless, the point stands that they are at completely different points of a console life cycle and it won't look like it did in the video.

Not sure why you're getting so defensive about the console either, I'm sure it can look that good on ps4 but simply PS3/Xbox aren't that good and it is not running on a PS3 there.
 
Graphics looking decent whatever its run on. Video reminds why I've gone off the MGS games though. As awesome as they are I cant deal with watching a 10 mintue video frequently anymore. When I was younger I dont remember MGS1 being so bad but playing the HD remake on xbox 360 it annoyed me a fair bit. I want to be playing MGS not watching it. Of course thats a criticism of the series and just tells me I need to play other series to get my fix! :)

Decent discussion going on here

- Continued play on "phantom", where "Two Phantoms were born" stands as the tagline for Ground Zeroes' first concept material.
- Volgin lookalike wreathed in flames.
- Hallucinating petals straight from MGS3's climax.
- Floating figure with audible breaths muffled by mask, ala Psycho Mantis.
- Similar facial scars between in-game model and Snake concept art for Ground Zeroes.
- That ****ing mullet.
- Joakim Mogren, where Joakim is an anagram for Kojima.


MGS games already are complicated enough, don't need this too
