Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1

It'd be great to play them again, been ages since I done them, and it'd be nice to have them on Steam forever, but £50 for a few games that are 20 to 35 years old and don't have keyboard and mouse support (so I'm expecting a half-arsed port with no optimisations) is too steep for me.

Hopefully in Vol.2, but there's a whole bunch of other games they might go through before reaching that. There was some news recently that they actually had a build that was working flawlessly on the 360, so hopefully it's a lot easier to port than people thought it would be.
 
I guess the pachinko machines aren't working out so well?

Don't really want to give any money to Konami these days.
 
Only played the first one on the playstation but loved it and it would be great to have them all on pc so I could work through them. However, there's a lot of new games coming out this year. I don't feel the need to jump back to dodgy ports. As Teaf said, I don't think they'll be good ports.
 
Cheapskate Konami :( I mean they are spending big money on Silent Hill games right now remastering a few.....then this is just an official PC Playstation emulator wrapper around the original game files.....!

Shame. Really want these, but no way am I paying that for such effort. Will wait until I can get it sub £20.
 
Only thing i want is a remake of mgs1 just some 4k textures and high poly models and that do me lovely. With kb and mouse support of course tho dunno how cos of that mission with the joypad swapping thing.
 
Would love another run through on MGS1 and MGS2, I remember playing the first on a ps1 emulator on the PC many years back, was a nice bit of nostalgia but definitely would have been better with a controller.
 
It would appear some reviews are out today. I'm mega hyped at doing some of the trophies on console again.
 
I want this. But their asking price for what just sounds like a simple port without much work seems a tad greedy.

Will check out reviews. If they had added some value will grab it. If not will wait until sub £20.

Certainly will add to my collection at some point though no doubt.
 
According to gman you'll be getting a much better game and experience if you just play these games on PC via emulators instead of buying this money grab

 
Lol. Won't be getting my money if that's the case then. When I eventually get a steam deck 2 I will setup the emulator stuff there anyway.
 
I’ll likely pick this up when the price drops, a little disappointed that MGS1 wasn’t given some HD love, but maybe that’s the charm seeing it in its original form. I can remember being so excited for this that pre-ordered it from the USA to play on my modded PS1 and thinking it was the best game ever.

Just use a PS1 emulator like Gman said
 
Feels pretty lazy although I'm looking forward to getting this on the Switch where I doubt the shortcomings will be noticed much!

Its a shame that Metal Gear Solid 1 has never had a proper HD remake though
 
I've only tried MGS3 so far and it looks squished, any one found that it looks squished, as if its 4:3 aspect ratio? I do have small black bars on either side of the screen which is not ideal.
