Method of using water to cook steak?

Cooking steak sous-vide is getting more common. You could try that to get your H2O and beef fix.

i have always fancied trying this and again, it is about sealing the flavour into the meat and ensuring nothing is lost through cooking, along with the even cooking of the meat.

guys i do this on a regular basis.
dip braising steak into seasoned flour.
place in a casserole dish.
cover with a pint of cold water. add 1 large chopped onion and a pinch of dried thyme.
cover and cook in an oven at 150.C for 2-3 hrs.
remove meat and sprinkle in Bisto gravy granules until thick and put meat back in and stir.
serve with creamy mash, broccoli and fresh garden peas yummmy.:D

@Acidhell2, i now its using granules, but if you taste the gravy after its been made, it is one of the best gravys i have ever tasted.
not a drop is wasted with my family.

aye, this works and is making me rather hungry, nothing wrong with using gravy granules at all and a very cost effective way of getting some flavour. add some nice full bodied red wine or even use a 25%-50% wine and 75%-50% water mix.

the op's cooking process of meat + water + onion for 30 mins then + 1 hour in gravy is for far to shorter period of time which coupled with a total lack of seasoning in the first stages would, imo only achieve a loss of flavour of the meat and probably quite a tough meal.

I'm going to try what the guy did in the Youtube video, a Youtube comment stating it lasted 3 days attracted me.
