I wonder if future generations will look back at the MeToo movement "witch-hunts" in the same way we currently look back at the McCarthy anti-Communist trials of the late 40's to early 50's or whether future generations will be in favour of it?

That might well be sage advice but I'm more interested in what actually happened? Like what is the story here/background to this? I gather there has been a false accusation of some kind.
As far as I can tell and ignoring all morals. Some woman claimed sexual harassment against a man she had previously had a relationship with and said man was then subsequently hounded on the internet, lost social standing, reputation and job. Now said woman is being hounded after man decided to set the record straight with a video showing evidence of a consensual relationship. Internet retribution ensues ... much memes etc ...
Very rushed - so don't quote me (someone i'm sure will correct my mistakes/misunderstandings):
- April Dawn accused him of being a sexual predator/pest/abuser over a certain period of time
- he had to keep quiet while evidence was compiled (i think - not sure why he had to wait so long - I probably zoned out)
- During that time AD, along with her new heightened profile, urged all other women to come out and talk about their experiences with the guy (can't remember his name - think of a bearded, black haired Peter Griffen)
- Some promptly did - but 'from my understanding' none of these 'experiences' broke any laws - but obviously fuelled AP's agenda.
- Time passes - the guy is able to release texts/emails pretty much vindicating him (his evidence) - and portraying AD as a voracious opportunist both in career and notoriety.
- He's p*ss*d and wants recourse/vindication/redemption
- She wants to move on and put her mental health first (it's great in cuckoo-land) - apparently ignoring potential civil suits and false allegations...

The CPS accepted the case and named his accuser due to a likely successful outcome but if he didn't have that money it would never have happened and he'd be stuck with the public yet anonymous smear.
The fact that she killed herself is neither here nor there when it comes to the justice of the matter. One side is publicly gagged and even if they win they can't speak. How can justice be seen to be done if one side is allowed to be invisible even if they lie.
This woman has under 1000 followers on Twitter, what makes her so special? Just because she cried wolf?
TL;DR version as follows...
Andy Signore engages in florty bants with April Dawn, at first it's innocent stuff (used loosely considering he's married with kids etc) but quickly escalates into an actual affair.
They shack up in his hotel room during conferences/movie events and expos etc and exchange nudes. The evidence is in all messages and emails verified by Google timestamps. Everything is completely consensual and she's clearly having a great time.
She then starts a fling with one of his friends, he's happy for them and wishes them well etc.
Some time later he gets an email from her saying how he abused his position and that he keeps harassing her in messages etc. There is no evidence of these things happening. His supposed friend also sides with her. Maybe together they conjured up a plan? We don't know...
He seeks legal advice and keeps quiet about it while the whole thing is ongoing.
Turns out she made up the whole thing up and since his video came out, she's merely posted a thing on twitter saying she knows her truth and doesn't want to discuss it further. Basically she has no comeback and social justice is taking place against her.
All the while, there are a bunch of her Twitter followers supporting her for being strong and all that horse poo that comes with bum licking.

People are mostly dumb and we should all strive to be less dumb.

Not really, he had a few people come forward on twitter with examples of him being awkwardly flirty. There have been no other accusations of abuse etc.
If you're interested the video is worth a watch, it's a better idea than trying to get a general view of the situation from 3rd hand comments.

No, he deserves to be admonished for having an affair and thats between him and his wife. You seriously believe that all people who have an affair need to have their career destroyed? Wow. Thats a bit extreme and since 36% of the Uk population admits to having affairs, that will be a third of the workforce you are advocating having their careers destroyed.

I've ranted on topics like this before about men who get accused and then do nothing for retribution - the guy accused of penetrating some **** on a Tube platform being one example. This sort of **** is only going to peter out when the maggots making these false accusations are locked up and fined every penny they own. there needs to be some high-profile examples to put the message across. it annoys the living **** outta me that these people aren't immediately done by the police for false accusation or attempting to pervert the course of justice etc. at the very least they should make them swear an oath when making the claim so that they can immediately be done for perjury if it turns out they're lying.
