Metro Last Light issues... &%!&£"&%!&"

Installed the latest drivers which were released for this game today, just got in from work and booted it up.

The screen flickers immensely, it's hard to describe. It's like a brightness switch flickering from 1 (full brightness) to 0.8 (a little dimmer).

As well as that, EVGA Precision X OSD doesn't work with it, and my cards just don't seem to be booting up properly at all. The clocks don't ramp up and neither do my fans. WHAT GIVES NVIDIA?!

Sounds like a driver issue.

Have you tried it with SLI disabled?

Yeah, it works with SLI disabled. OSD still doesn't display.

This is pretty **** considering I installed their latest released drivers FOR MLL. -.-

edit// OSD isn't working for *anything* now. Awesome.

Rolling back to 312.22 to see if this helps.

Well that sorted it. Nice one bugging drivers Nvidia.

Edit. Flickering gone and osd back on, runs like **** and down clocks with 10 percent gpu usage once game starts...

Edit new drivers installed, flickering back but OSD on. **** this buggy PoS.

Can't even get through the benchmark without the GPUs downclocking, GPU2 just shuts off.

I get slightly flickering shadows,do you get that? only very slight though,if you move it stops

apart from that it runs fine for me 7970

Nope, the *whole* screen flickers. It's as if I'm looking at a TV through a camcorder (scan lines?) but not as a line moving down it's the whole screen.

Moving back to 314.22 stops that issue but it runs like **** 10% GPU usage and 5FPS. Back to 320 (MLL drivers...) and it flickers, and runs like **** anyway. Well played Nvidia, well played. Spend more time ******* tinkering with this damn machine fixing game issues than I do playing the damn games.

try disabling tessellation or the other ingame features it might cure it

Might be best just to roll back, and wait for some more stable drivers seeing as it's a beta?

Looks like I'll have to skip it until they fix it for sure then, what an annoyance. Fair enough if it were Gaming Evolved title but it's a TWIMTBP title.

I do, I have a second monitor. The issue goes away if SLI is disabled or a diff driver is used however.

Try this....

Disconnect second monitor and reboot. Make sure primary and only monitor is dvi or dp, not hdmi. Try the game with that setup only.

Amd cards flickering fix. Navigate to %LOCALAPPDATA%4A GamesMetro LL and open user.cfg with text editor.
Locate line r_api 2 and change it to r_api 0 for DirectX 9 renderer.
Change user.cfg to read-only to prevent the game overwriting changes.

maybe till they fix it with new patch may work.

You mentioned OSD a few times.

Tried running without that? Or are you just referring to the OSD for checking SLI use?

You played this on AMD yet? Also flickering stuff. It's just another poo game that runs like a dog atm. No matter if you use nvidia or AMD.

I get 100+ fps in places and all of a sudden down to 28 etc. (7970)

yes kun i same not very optimized yet.

certain settings seem to hammer fps yet yield no real visual difference or actually make it look worse in my op.

crysis 3 is a lot better looking if you can run it at the higher settings.
