Metroid Prime 3

Got this last night. Looking forward to an hour or so on it tonight and giving it a good hammering tomorrow!

Just as I was making progress on Zelda (40 hrs in...) Only took me since launch day! :p

Finished it last night on normal difficulty. Fantastic game all round.
Might skip Veteran and go straight for Hypermode difficulty :D

Well..... once I've had my fill of Mario Galaxy ;)

You should have finished it and got all the heart pieces by about 42/43 hours.

Think so. I'm halfway through the Sky Temple, got half of the second line of hearts and most of the poes etc.

Done @ 46 hours and really impressed with the end :D

Started MP3 now. Done about 45 mins, about to sort the 1st generator. First thoughts are:

Graphics are lovely and clean, nice artistic direction. Spaceships/stations reminiscent of Star Wars and Alien all in one.

Controls are brilliant; I can see why people would like a quick 180 turn function but I'm really starting to get to grips with the speed and accuracy. I expected to be impressed by the controls after being happy with CoD3 controls. Didn't even try anything other than Advanced controls and switched the fire button to B a la trigger.

Can't wait to put a solid 2 or 3 hours in this weekend :D

Good stuff. If you liek the game now you'll LOVE it about 2 hours in :D

Find it hard to follow the story, perhaps I should have took the time to complete MP1 & 2... Will I struggle to complete these after MP3? The dialog never seems to sink in, didn't particularly on Zelda.

Hmm... can't say I had any issues following/remembering the plot. The MP's can be played in any order really as they all explain the plot as if you've never played another MP game. Are you scanning a lot of object to pick up on the back story?

I am scanning like a mad one, aye. Read a bit of the backstory last night on t'internet... much clearer now. Looking forward to having a good session on this tonight. Kreeee, do you have a PAL or US version of the game? Thinking about those credits you can transfer.

I found it much easier than the first two, purely due to the controls. I didn't have any real difficulties dispatching enemies. Bosses were quite difficult actually, but are easy enough to polish off once you spot their patterns.

I'm struggling to remember the game having completed it before Christmas, but I personally think it's the best game on the Wii. Well, depending on mood I spose Galaxy is better :)

Only tips I can give you is to play a particular level consistently until you're confident you'll remember where to go the next time you load up. I found that if I left it a few days I'd forget exactly what I was supposed to be up to.

Don't be afraid of flying back to other planets or locations. You're constantly picking up upgrades and knowledge (read and scan everything!) and you'll get more missles, weapon upgrades and more clues to your missions the longer the game goes on.

Where abouts are you? Describe it and I'll try and help! :D

I am now in skyway and have to go pick the chozzo tech so i can reactivate the driod or something, I just find the bosses very time consuming once you know the patterns it still is a hard slog.

Bloody great game though my wii had a damaged gpu and i haven't played it in ages and now i have just got my replacement console back I am enjoying my wii once again its keeping me off my pc .

Awesome missions on the sky platforms. Total rip-off of Cloud City in Star Wars but that's what I think is so good about it.

Elysia was great. Something very 'alone' about the place that epitimises Metroid.

I just got a email saying someone had posted in this thread, and decided to have a quick go on MP3 as i had'nt completed it due to MarioGalaxy.
Was at the Elysia Seed boss. Beat him, and saved on the Valhalla.

Great game though.

I think I might run through it again on a harder difficulty and try and find as much as I can. Once I've completed MoH, Galaxy and Paper Mario... :p

Same here, got a ton of games to get through and no time.

I've left picking up No More Heroes, Battalion Wars II and Zack and Wiki because I just never get round to finally finishing off my games. I've still got Zelda on the VC I need to complete too, having never touched it on the SNES.

I'm still playing through this on veteran - It's amazingly tough but weighted so well you don't feel cheated. Great game.
