Metronome - which to get?

I want to get a metronome for practice (piano), a dedicated one as opposed to an app. They don't seem to be expensive but which one should I get?

Old school mechanical with no battery needed or digital one?

You really need both. See if you can find an antique one in restored and working condition + a digital one.

I have a spare phone, guess I can turn that into a dedicated metronome, with my regular phone showing the music.

There is something very cool about the vintage tick tock but personally i’d Just go with a cheap digital option or a phone app as they just work and don’t mind falling over!

Hi. Don't go analogue just use a phone. You'll need more than one metronome to get everything done. The ones to cover everything are:

I teach Jazz guitar and I make sure all my students have these 3.

I downloaded Time Guru but the other 2 are not in iOS, if it is, it must be called something else?
