MFI to follow Woolworths into Administration

Went to look around out local MFI whilst out and about. It was their final 'closing down' clearance today. Pretty sad to see everything being stripped out and sold off. They were evening selling their coffee machine and the seats from the staff room.
Does this mean mfi will have a big closing down sale?

Not sure about the ones in Bristol.

The one closing today had all sorts for sale. Basically anything you could take away and fit in your car. They had a really nice large wardrobe I was quite keen on (not sure of the original price - at a guess £500-600) for £100 but it was a bit too big unfortunately.

They also had lots of assorted bits and pieces including spares, so worth looking if you have already bought from them and need a spare set of fixtures or tiles etc.

What deciedes if a company goes down or not, obvioulsy lack of the public spending in it i suppose, i just thought that there are plenty of other firms that would go down before these big ones have, you don't hear of many restaurants for example going bust?

Yea like DFS?, who's sale ends every sunday lol.
Surely not. It wouldn't be Christmas without the airwaves being full to bursting with DFS ads. Best thing on TV tbh. :p

Our MFI didn't survive the 'management buy-out' so is long gone. However, Rosebys was the same when that went - pretty much everything that wasn't nailed down was for sale. Someone even asked if they could buy the tills but were turned down.

Used to be a motorcycle shop in Crowland called Carnells, they always had a sale on, problem was, their sale prices were higher than everyone else's normal prices.
They had the big posters, it was always ending on a sunday.

Its such a cheap way of trying to con people, they deserve to go out of business.

Oh my, what a long bargepole you do have there sir. :)

Someone must buy stuff from there I suppose. Given the recent advertising campaign (that the ASA banned well after the fact), I reckon it must be midgets.

Terrible company our family used them back in the early 90s and after two terrible experiences we never went back. Even had problems with Ikea and never been back.

We save up and buy locally made furniture from a specialist in town, expensive but last longer and is very nice and you they have uber customer services.

Nobody ACTUALLY buys sofas from DFS do they? '100ft' and 'bargepole' come to mind.

My parents bought a dfs sofa many many years ago (approx 12), and it was such an awesome sofa! It was so comfortable and we never had any trouble with it.
