MG ZR's engine sizes?

An old school friend of mine, passed his test a month back and brought himself a Mg Zr 1.4i for £3k 30kish on the clock alloys leather interior etc etc.

Im curious to know what engine sizes do they come in, i know they come in 1.4 and 1.6 what else do they pack? 1.8? 2.0? turbo's?

1.4, 1.6, 1.8, 1.8 VVC and 2.0 Turbo Diesel.

There's no 1.6.

ZR 105 = 103bhp = 1.4
ZR 120 = 118bhp = 1.8
ZR 160 = 158bhp = 1.8vvc

Then there's the TD

I bet he hasn't

Muncher is correct in his statement.

He may well have a Rover 25 1.6, he won't have a 1.6 MGZR though.

I *think* the only 1.6 Rover have used in the last 15/20 years was a Honda one in the early-mid 90's?

Rovers had 1.6's like you say. I owned an H reg 416GSi and it was the most amazing engine. Honda one afaik. Revved to heaven and back. Felt more perky and fun in town than my current 2.5 v6 24v does.

Nope, they deffinatley made a k-series 1.6

hmm you may be right, ive not seen it as hes at a different store now. Ive heard other guys mention it once or twice that its a 1.6 ZR with an induction kit. Ah well, it wont stop me sleeping tonite!

Muncher correct about the ZR (oops sorry about that), but Rover used their own 1.6 K Series in the 200,400,25,45,MGF and MGTF right up to the point of their demise. It's essentialy the same engine as the 1.4 and the 1.8 but with a different stroke.

Don't just take our word for it, Parkers don't list a 1.6 ZR, meaning that there isn't one, not from the factory anyway (and I would see little point in someone transpanting a 1.6 into one

I stand corrected then, didn't realise they did a 1.6 K.
