MGS4 online beta thread

Does anyone think this is possible..

A friend logs into the PSN using my name and password, goes onto the store. Goes to download history and downloads the beta onto his harddrive?

EDit: did you know were 96th in the clan leaderboard.

Where are you viewing these stats mate, I want to see how terrible I am... :(

That should work, but you have to make sure you leave the account on your firends PS3 as the game will stop working if you delete the account.

You'll also have to download the first update using HTTP which is very very slow and prone to random disconnections.

What do you mean by that? He has to make a new user? I thought he could just switch the email and pass.

EDIT: anyone got a server up .. if not I'll play gh3.

You make a new account on the PS3 then you log into your PSN account through that one.

You then have to make sure you don't delete the new account off the PS3 otherwise the other accounts on the PS3 (ie your friends one) won't be able to run the game anymore.
 
I really hope the AI is challenging in the SP. After playing this MGO beta, I've gotten really good with the controls and my aim with thumbsticks has gotten a lot better - I might be tempted to FPS my way through the game!

AI has always been good in MGS, I doubt you can run and gun in SP, unless you have it on easy. :p
 
I like MGO way more than GTA4, I'm such a heathen! It's just nice to go back to responsive controls and sharp graphics after a while. When the 11th comes, I'll be waiting in agony for the 12th of June.

Mmm that's true. I just remembered about the beating they laid down of me whenever I alerted them - They'd come in a group of four; one with a shield, another with a shotgun and two with rifles. Even if you grabbed one of them as a humanshield, another guy would charge at you with a knife :eek:
 
One thing i dont like is the cover system against walls. Its way different to the originals. Before Snake had is full back to the wall and shuffled along quite fast, now they kinda hold the wall face first and creep along.

Hopefully that is changed for SP :(
 
yeah i gathered after trawling through several pages, ill try the demo when it comes out as I was really looking forward to this
 
MGO is definitely the best shooter by miles for me. I love the teamplay aspect of it, soldiering around and saluting and all that macho military stuff. :p The graphics are so clean as well. Especially on Midtown Maelstrom.

See while i agree with you that it is fantastic, i really don't define it as a shooter. It is unlike any online game i've ever played before, ok it HAS shooting, but there's so much more to it and that's precisely why i love it.

Never since first playing TFC back in the late 90s have i ever seen an online game and just been in awe of it. If you watch a decent squad work in this game it just looks so utterly perfect.

I played with a team a few days back all had headsets all new the jobs they had to do, they was awesome! I was just a bit part player TBH they helped me out and directed me but they work so well as a team it was unreal (not the game lol). I totally agree about the no other online game like it, and thats why some dont get on with it. Its the CQC system, the game mechanics and everything about it. Even simple things like holding on to the top of a shaft waiting for someone to walk by and stealthily lift your self grab by the throat and choke em out, is so awesome to do lol.
