MGS4?

Is MGS4 worth preordering? I haven't played a Metal Gear game since the MGS1 came out on the Playstation all those years ago. I have some reward points to spend and thought I could use them to get this. What do you think?

I guess I could always buy them cheap second hand and play them back through, now there is an idea

It's one of the biggest PS3 releases this year, your crazy if you have a PS3 and don't at least try MGS4.

My girlfriend managed to pick herself up MGS 2 for £3 the other day, take a look around

If you get MGS3 you might want to pick up the 'SUBSISTENCE' release as it has a much improved camera system, and also aload of extra stuff. It does have pretty terrible framerate issues when played on the PS3 though, the battle with 'The Fury' virtual crawls to a standstill so if you can, play through it on a PS2.

I dont see why not, i read somewhere that when playing MGS4 they will show cut scenes from the early games so that anyone who missed the last two or three games can still follow the story line.

There's a rumor going that you actually play the flashbacks of MGS1 with MGS4 graphics. The latest trailer (set in Shadow Moses) and the existence of a much younger Snake character in MGS4 hints at this somewhat.

Oh joy, so now rather than 20 minute cut scenes between gameplay, it'll be 40 minutes lol

During the MGS4 cut scenes it will tell you to press a button to trigger cut scenes from previous games when characters reference those events - if you don't press the button, the older cut scene is ignored, good idea for those of us who know the story line the back of their hand.

MGS4 will be a must have. You will be missing out on one of the biggest games this year, and probably the biggest console exclusive game that will be released this year

I'm waiting for the special edition to become available for pre order, can't wait for this. Loved all the MGS's and the online beta is excellent fun
