So since BC2 I really want to start playing in a team again, so obviously I need a mic. Problem is I already have a set of very nice headphones with excellent audio quality and comfort (The now unavailable Sony MDR V6's) so I need a standalone mic.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

elara clip on mic, get some for about £4.

i use 1 with my sennheisers. pretty much everyone who uses headphones suggest them, thats why i got one. it does pickup background noise quite easily though, say if you have a tv on in the background. if you search the sound city section of forum you will see that mic refrenced a lot.

Just what I was looking for. Just trying to find a place with them in stock.

Yeah I'm needing to get something like that as well. Picked up a similar £5 supermarket clip on mic, which while surprisingly good doesn't quite pick up my voice well enough some times and you have to kinda angle you mouth at it more than is easy to do to be 100% clear.

Also have to laugh must be a lot of 'good headphone' users getting these, the first link i found to one had 'other people also bought with this' Sennheiser 595s and 555s :D

I just use the mic in my webcam. Never thought it'd be any good, but when my headset broke I tried it out and it works fine. I can now wear a decent set of cans instead of the rubbish in most PC headsets.

I used to own a logitech headset. All i'l say is… its worth paying the extra money for a good bit of kit. There is nothing worse than having a bad mic used on vent... you literally scream down the line no matter how to change your settings.

I changed from these:

Best thing I ever did. (granted I’d already bought the Logitech) However the extra £20 would have got me 5.1 dolby, perfectly clear mic when using vent (almost hides my rubbish welsh accent) and most of all gives me a good advantage over others as i can hear if some1 is running up behind me! Just wish I’d paid the extra £19 first time round!
