Mick McCarthy - FIRED!

I guess MM has been resting on his laurels a little (ie getting promoted and staying in the EPL) for the last year or so, but I always liked him as a manager, and not sure who will be available that will be definitely better in the long run

I dont believe Wolves have the cash available to push for top 10 - remember Norwich are unusual in being so high so quickly after being promoted, dont majority of clubs who are promoted stay in /around bottom 3 /4 for their first season and go straight back down (or if they do stay up, its by a whisker)? (No disrespect meant to Norwich, they are doing brilliantly and playing a very attacking game to boot)

a lot of teams are performing terribly this season, (which helps those lower down) - would anyone really expect AV to be as low as they are at this point in the season for example?

Well, when you have a job, you are given a review etc based on performance. The below figures don't warrant him staying in my opinion.

I have always been faithful to Mick over the last 2 years, but the last 3-4 games I have slowly changed my mind a bit.

Only one in win in the last 13 games, and that was only due to QPR going down to 10 men, they crumbled. We was one nil down, then they lost a man, and we just managed to get a win.

What players have Wolves actually spent a decent amount of cash on in the last 3 seasons? I can't even think of one.

Their best two players are Jarvis and Hennessey. The rest are only championship quality really.

I expect Norwich to do exactly the same as Reading and Hull, finish top ten, relegated next season.

We have

- Roger Johnson (4 million)
- Kevin Doyle (6 million)
- Stephen Fletcher (7 million)
- Jamie o'Hara (4 million)
- Milijas (3 million)
- Adam Hamill (think it was less than a million)
- Stephen Hunt (3million)

Fletcher, Doyle, O'Hara, Johnson? Although making Johnson the captain straight away was a mistake.

We have quite a few decent players (and as many championship quality admittedly!).

Sad to see Mick go, but based on results he had to. Shame it didn't happen a month ago really so whoever is appointed can get a couple of players in. Heard couple of people calling for Benitez, but I would prefer Curbishley at the moment. Maybe Solskjaer to get his first job in english football management?

been out of a job for a while now? He's apparently one of the favourites at the moment, but I can't see it happening.

If Curbs is interested, we'd be stupid not to get someone of his experience in. Maybe Moxey is going to install himself as manager!

problem is only 1 of them is a defender, and MM had a couple of seasons to try and improve it.

need to be able to defend half decent against the teams around you to get the results.

that comes into relevance when you think that blackburn are around the 7th/8th BEST scoring team in the premier league but still lie so close to the relegation zone.

mate at work (who's a wolves fan) mentioned rafa, said summat about him and moxey being mates ?

Maybe Solskjaer to get his first job in english football management?

think man utd have their eye on him, after the work he's done in norway, so think its unlikely.

Somehow can't see Rafa being interested.

They have Bassong in on loan too, not entirely sure he's better than what they have however.

Would Benitez come back to the UK to manage Wolves?

He still lives in the UK. I can't see it happening though. As I mentioned earlier, Morgan wanted Curbishley ahead of Benitez for the Liverpool job in 2004 and I can't see Benitez working for anybody that's got Christian Purslow in their ear.

I don't really rate any of those players.

O'Hara, Milijas, Hamill and Hunt are all dire.

Johnson, Doyle and Fletcher are adequate at best. You can say all you want about Fletcher being in the top 10 goalscorers at present but he wouldn't get a first team start in any of the current top half teams.

The players Mick brought in on loan were of reasonable quality but aren't most of them long term injured now?

wouldn't wish steve bruce on anyone.

not really anyone out there i can see them going for , i don't rate bruce/warnock any better than mccarthy.

This, he is a joke, he has no ambition, it wont be long before he is fired.

He cant motivate players either after a certain time.
