Hi All,

Not been into hardware for a few years so not to sure what to buy, I've done a little research for parts and got this.

Sapphire HD 7850 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card w/ FARCRY3, Nexuiz & Sleeping Dogs PC Games £169.99
Samsung 256GB SSD 830 Notebook/Apple Series SATA 6Gb/s KIT with Norton Ghost - (MZ-7PC256N/EU) £143.99
Intel Core i5-3330 3.00GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £143.99
BenQ GL2450 24" Widescreen LED Monitor - Black £129.95
Lian Li PC-A04B Aluminium Midi-Tower Case - Black £82.99
ASRock Z77 Pro4-M Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard £77.99
OCZ CoreXtreme 500w '80 Plus' Power Supply £32.99
Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX) £25.99
Sony Optiarc AD-7280S 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £19.99
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 CPU Cooler (Socket 939/AM2/AM3/775/1155/1156/1366) £15.98
Gigabyte M6900 3200DPI Gaming Mouse £14.99
Logitech K120 Keyboard (920-002524) £9.98

Total - £868.82

Will I be getting good value for money, will the PSU be good enough and will the small case handle the temps.

I want something small that will run quiet that will run Visual Studio 2012 smoothly and will play fps games on medium settings.

Cheers
Matt

It's worth spending a little on the PSU. And with a small case, something modular.

I would get a decent monitor too. Probably IPS, like one of these.

Screen size won't matter as much as resolution, and for development, I would seriously consider two monitors at some point.

For mouse and keyboard, I wouldn't be fussed with a gaming mouse. A standard Microsoft desktop mouse with two thumb buttons should do the trick. Or a G400.

For the keyboard, I'd get something decent to type on. Don't like the cheap rubberdome Logitechs (only one I liked was their UltraX Premium). Maybe the Cherry CyMotion keyboard. Dunno about the Xebec Slimline keyboards, I like the slim keyboards, but not to everyone's taste.

8GB should be enough.

Processor should be OK. Maybe save on the motherboard if you are not gonna overclock (H77M-D3H).

All in all, it looks more like £950 to me.
