Classic :D

A smash-hit series through the 1990s, Codemasters, has once again secured the rights to the miniature vehicles for an all-new video game that promises a real return to the MICRO MACHINES game’s much loved, all-out fun, racing gameplay. The property is under license from the Hasbro Properties Group, the intellectual property development arm of Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE: HAS).

MICRO MACHINES v4 game, titled as a sequel to the last MICRO MACHINES game from Codemasters, is now in development for PlayStation®2, PC, PSP™ and Nintendo DS™. Scheduled for a summer 2006 release, development is back with the team at Supersonic Software, creators of some of the most acclaimed MICRO MACHINES games and more recently Mashed and Mashed: Fully Loaded.

Mixing miniature mayhem with maximum multiplayer racing, MICRO MACHINES v4 game will arrive packed with knockabout, breakneck racing in the fastest scale miniatures, complete with explosive weapon power-ups. Letting you loose with hundreds of vehicles, each with distinctive performance abilities, you’ll be racing your inch-long miniature motors on the wildest tracks where everyday household objects appear immense in size and can become lethal hazards.

ya know what will make this game amazing, is if it was actually like the orinigal micromachines :D (not V3) pure quailty gameplay from an overhead view, great fun :)

Loved this game on the Mega Drive. Played it loads. Good laugh in multiplayer too :)

Wonder what this game will be like!?

I've completed Mashed and to be honest it's a pretty disappointing game. It isn't half as fun to play as MM/MM2/MM96 on the Megadrive, so I'm not overly confident about what MM4 will be like.

Micromachines on the megadrive, track editor plus 2 ports on the cart for 4 player goodness.

And yes I still play it :D

Good news I'm hoping it will be like the Megadrive versions but I fear it may not live up to that level of excellence.

Does anyone remember Ignition? That was about the closest I've played to the original Micro Machines on a PC :)

Yeah it was possible to connect up four controllers and have two players per controller, me and my mates used to hire it from blockbusters for a night and end up keeping it for a week. Good Times

no mention of xbox 360 in the line up of machines for it to be released on

Strange one.

Hope its as good as the original on the amiga, gave skidmarks a run for its money lol

Wasnt there a MicroMachines released not long ago on..

PS2, Xbox and GC ???

I remember playing the demo.. but it may have been canned. I just remember a sppoky esq level with boats and buggies.
