micro-SIM Help

ok got my brand new iphone this morning so you can imagine how pleased i was, this was untill it came to fitting the sim and see the old style does not fit, and been told i need a "micro-SIM" or i could cut my old sime to size but that didnt work, now ive tried o2 and they said go into a shop and they will sort it for me, i did that but when they knew i brought the phone off ebay they didnt want to know, so i rang o2 again and explained and now they said they cant help me, so does anyone know were i can get one of these bloody micro-SIM please i would be welcome, i did see on o2 website there giving them away but there for the ipad so dought they would work.

how did they know you bought it off ebay? ring them back and explain that you bought it sim-free direct from apple and you require a micro-sim, then use http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk/ to migrate your number from your normal sim to the new micro-sim.

I told them like a DH, that link when ive transferd my number to new multi sim does it move credit aswell ?

If i'm being honest I'm not entirely sure, may be worth using up whatever your credit is before migrating over.

Hmm, dont know why you would tell them you got it off ebay and dont know why they wouldnt give you a microsim.

I got my iphone from an apple store. Went to the 02 store asked for a microsim he asked to see a receipt or something for the phone. I had the email receipt, but I said do you want to just see the phone instead. :cool:

. He said yes, showed him and he gave me a microsim. Took some details, number & address etc.

I was actually using a cut down normal sim until then. I botched it a bit, cut it too small, but I got it too work, just had to make sure it was in the right position when I pushed it in so the connectors pressing against the sim kept it in place.

Go ask again or another o2 store.

I suggest another store is in order and perhaps you remember buying from Apple directly?

It shouldn't matter to them where you bought it from, you're an existing customer right?

All they're doing is providing you with a sim card which is compatible for your new phone so that you can continue to use their services!

Yeah im currently a customer with them. but i called o2 and told them what the problem was and they are happy to send me one by post so will wait and see, i do feel an idiot telling them i got it off ebay didnt think.
