Micro stutter when dipping under 60FPS

What can I do to solve this? For example, when I'm playing a game that is running at 60FPS and then all of a sudden something happens on screen that causes the FPS to dip for a split second, I will get split second micro stutter until the FPS gets stable again.

I hear something called 'dynamic vsync' in radeon pro that supposed to help with this, has any one tried it?

If you use v-sync, always enable adaptive/dynamic vsync, it'll help.

Though, if you have the option to cap the FPS, cap it at 1fps under your refresh rate. In your case 59fps, it usually gives best results.

However, this stutter could be related to many things. What GPU, drivers and CPU are you using?

I've noticed the micro stutter when going under 60FPS on many different CPU's and GFX cards so I know it's not an issue with my PC, but my specs are 4670k OC'd 4.2GHz, 8GB DDR3 1600MHz, running off an SSD.

Screen res is 1920x1080 - Noticing this a lot in Guild Wars 2 which is very CPU dependent.

MMO games rely heavily on your CPU and even then you could have a 5ghz 5960x and it would still drop.

Not sure what cooler you have for your CPU but you could try upping it to 4.5ghz and seeing if it helps minimums.

Got a H75 on at the moment, not sure I want to go further than 4.2GHz as I'm at 1.245v atm

Depends on your temps as well but that voltage is well below the safe max which is 1.3v I believe. I'd imagine 4.5ghz would be possible around 1.2v but it depends on temps.

I meant 1.245. I tried going up to 4.4GHz but kept crashing even at 1.285, not sure if it's safe to increase it more to try and get 4.4GHz

I've got the same card mate and I had something similar happen whilst playing Crysis 3. Turns out the card was hitting 95c which causes the card to throttle the clocks, in somecases quite severely which was causing the micro stuttering. Reseating the HSF and changing the TIM whilst your at it sorted it out. Might be worth looking into?

Parked Cores?

Not sure what that means, how do I find out?

Temps are fine on the GPU, not enough to throttle it.

Isn't suttering one of those drawbacks that comes with having vsync enbaled? Unless you get a freesync monitor gamers typically have to choose between tearing and stuttering.

You only get stuttering if you cant hold the frame rate.

Which I couldn't in GW2, it's a difficult game to get a constant 60FPS as their is so much going on

If I turn Vsync off should I still limit the FPS to 59 just so it's smoother in general? So I'm not getting drops from like 180fps ?

With Vsync off even though I'm getting +80FPS the game just doesn't feel smooth, I turn it back on and the game feels much smoother but then their is the micro stutter when under 60FPS
