Micro Stutter

Thought i had the dreaded micro stutter after going crossfire but it turned out to be a problem with my G5 mouse:

Had just built new rig and when i installed mouse drivers i updated the firmware also. Not sure what it did but it messed it up!!

Stutter was only happening when i looked around but was smooth when moving forward/sideways.

Swapped to another G5 i have and all smooth now.


Hopefully this post will help someone else out in the future

And to think i was just about to sell my cards

'Microstutter' from SLI / Crossfire, and 'Hitching' from not enough Vram are simply tall tales and myths that have never been demonstrably proven.

The only problem with crossfire and SLI is that some games may not support it, but thats pretty much the same thing with quad core CPUs, and no one uses that as an excuse not to buy those.

SLI / Crossfire is massively more helpful in video games than quad cores are as well.

Myth? Don't think so. I get microstutter in Crysis warhead at 5760x1080. The fps hovers around 40 but the controls are incredibly laggy like I'm playing at around 15 fps or so.

Current games are not very demanding, in your case crossfire is very much needed due to the resolution but when you have people using the same setup for 1920*1200 they will never notice it, then they claim it doesnt exist.
