Yeah, definitely has its place - although solar is the same (ie you need the roof space, direction, pitch etc).

Reviews you are right - that said most of these new firms get a slating from angry customers (eg I was concerned about givenergy for the same reason as they had poor reviews - eg 2.5 stars etc). I think some of this is definitely teething issues, some is just people's expectations, some is the massive supply shortages, Brexit etc

Definitely needs due diligence - it's nice these are made in the EU at least...

I'm gonna leave our solar fitters to test them out and sort the planning side and then if successful we'll add to our home plant !

Our countries entire approach to renewables and the green challenge has been and continues to be stupid. Somehow you can still build a new house without solar power and grey water storage. We as a nation are still flushing the toilet and cleaning our cars with water made fit for human consumption at vast expense expecting the government to get wind power right is like expecting lead to turn into gold!
 
Agree entirely, but you'd at least hope if they were that incompetent, they'd get out the way (ie relax some of these stupid regs!).

Yeah, I'm treating it as something to keep an eye on - it's really backward regulation holding it back. The regs/planning stuff was built for 10m high turbines with massive blades swinging around lopping heads of flocks of geese etc, the fact these are totally different in design, 50x smaller etc kinda makes them redundant/in need of revision. The moment they get relaxed, you could see an explosion of demand here, so keep to jump on the bandwagon before the queue forms!

You won’t get cholera from flushing you toilet or cleaning your car with rain water lol hell people waste thousands of litres of drinking water on keeping grass green it is bonkers that new build houses don’t require grey water systems are there isn’t significant incentives to retro install them.
