I will be recycling two of my parts;
  • i7 4770k
  • GTX 1060
I would like to buy this MicroATX case (https://www.overclockers.co.uk/cool...0l-micro-atx-case-black-window-ca-36v-cm.html).

I need recommendations for;
  • Micro ATX Motherboard
  • 16GB DDR4 Ram
  • Modular PSU
I am confused because I do not know if I can use my CPU in any other MB's, I believe I need a 1150 socket but 1150 does not support DDR4, so am I basically done for or is there something I can go for?

I appreciate any and all help, thank you.

Glass panel and not plastic

Not able to reuse your current PSU and Ram ?
Google second hand z97 mATX boards

Socket 1150 went end of life a long time ago now, so you cannot reuse your CPU unless you find a board second hand or maybe in a shop. I'd just keep the GTX 1060, and sell the 4770K and buy a new board/RAM/CPU, the 4770K will fetch £120-150 presently.

Do a search for H81 motherboard. There are still a few of them about for cheap (Less that £50) You will need DDR3 not DDR4 memory. You can get 16Gb(2 x 8Gb DDR3 1600Mhz) for about £50-60 second hand and you should be able to get a 500w bronze rated modular psu for about £50-60.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the responses, I guess I should have given a little more information. I am honestly satisfied with my current specifications (4770k/16GB/1060), I rarely even game anymore and when I do its usually CSGO/1080p. I just cannot justify upgrading right now to an 8700k+ and the requirements to use that CPU especially with only having a 1060 as I wont really benefit from it and I would be shelling out premium prices for up to date tech.

Of course later down the line (maybe the end of 2019) I will be for sure upgrading to a newer i7 and likely a 1080ti so based on Spectrum's suggestion I am going to go ahead and;

- Sell my current Motherboard, Ram, Aftermarket CPU Cooler and PSU as a bundle.
- Format both my 128GB SSD and 1TB HDD, re-install Windows 10 Pro, Office, Malwarebytes then sell those drives seperatly with said licensed software along with the original licenses.

Purchase a used 1150 Micro-ATX MB (ASUS H81M-PLUS), I have found a few decent ones for around £35 on eBay. Upgrade to some decent 1600Mhz DDR3 and re-use my 4770k/1060.

Essentially, I will be changing my current ATX setup for the same Micro-ATX setup with an upgrade to a 1TB SSD. You may be thinking, whats the point? Well I need to downgrade the size of my setup as I am moving abroad next year and it will just be easier to haul the **** with me. Doing it this way, I should break even as I already have the 1TB SSD all I need is the case, MB, Ram and a few fans.
