I just bought these and was wondering if I made a mistake, are there better speakers now for similar money?

For the money? Doubt it.

They should be decent set of speakers...what are you using it with? Are you just connect it to the PC onboard sound, or any soundcard/DAC etc?

Those are decent soundcard, so they should not hold your Solo6C back.

Using better RCA cables would also improve the audio quality comparing to the cheap bog standard cables that comes with your speakers/soundcard.

right now at that price point it's a toss up between Edifier and microlab the microlabs seem to do bass a bit better but the edifiers handle very well.

the recent change to teh edifiers moving the port to the front has improved them no end.

Until you cross the £150 mark there isn't anything of noteable improvement on the R1800T III or the microlab solo 6C except for volume and additional features like toslink or hdmi.

Sound quality wise I really want someone to buy a pair of teh microlab X1 and get back to me on them The look great on paper can't take them out of stock sadly

Those Microlab X1's do look good, though I can't see where the 96W RMS comes from as 24x2 + 15x2 equals 78W.

Would it be ok to connect a turntable into the aux rca ports, or would I need a phono amp?

They're powered speakers so do I still need a phono amp?

You don't get a line level signal from a turntable so a phono amp is needed

Hey guys, I am very happy with the speakers was just wanting to know if a turntable with a built in phono would sound good through these speakers?

Or would I be better off buying a turntable and seperate amp/phono stage.
