Microphone Doesn't work!

I just re-installed my computer using the acer recovery program that came with my computer. I installed my sound card drivers and installed skype. I can't seem to get my microphone to be working. If I unplug it and plug it back in it makes no difference in the recordings tab of the sound control panel. The mic is on and plugged in. Can anyone help me?

I'm running windows 7. The headset worked before I re-installed it as well. I installed realtek hd drivers to see if that would fix it but it didn't.

Well I just re-installed the computer again as I had another problem what is now solved. I re-installed the sound card drivers but it still doesn't work.

This is my device manager view. Is there anything I am missing?

Sorry, I didn't know it was important. I'm a sound noob

The headset is connected to the rear of the DG, I also tried to plug it into the onboard card but I turned that off in the BIOS so I'm guessing thats why that didn't work
