Microphone

Afternoon all,

My Sennheiser broke so while they're off for repair I need a new stand-alone microphone.

I've been using the the PS3 & 360 Bluetooth/Wireless ones but the quality is just terrible.

Can anyone recommend a desktop/clip on mic that's reasonable quality for £10-30?

Speedlink do an excellent quality clip-on mic for around £6, it comes highly recommended by nearly everyone here.

Of all the cheap mics i've tried, this seemed the best.

Yep that's the one. Made out of metal, good sound (not echo-ey) and pretty sturdy, I'll be picking myself one up when I need a mic soon.

Ordered one - what's the distance like on it?

Does it have to be on my clothes or can I just attach it to my keyboard?

Logitech USB Desktop Microphone - about £15
I use it as my main microphone, it's that good.
OCUK don't sell it, you'll have to look around.

I have mine clipped to my clothes normally but have had it on the wall beside me (where is is clipped to when i dont need it) and on my keyboard infront of me and on the odd occasion i have used it while its there, the people on vent/ts3 have still heard me, all be it not as loud

Hope that helps. As I have said here before, if I didnt use my headphones on my TV at night as well as my pc, i would have cable tied (with really small cable ties) the mic cable down the headphone cable to back of the pc (taking off croc clip).
