Microsoft 1080p streaming tech

Even most Unlimited packages have fair use policy's :(

Yeah, the vast majority of ISP's are sods when it comes to this..

I think O2/BE/SKY and to some extent Virgin are relatively ok in this department..

But the UK is slowly going forwards, we should have Fibre To The Cabinet (hopefully) rolled out over the next 2-3 years, and we are slowly gearing up for it.. However, we are a bit behind the times, and this idea isn't best placed in the UK, although quite a few people can take advantage of it..

1080p but what is the Audio? Or do they forget that people like nice sound quality aswell?

It will be certainly at least old fashioned Dolby Digital level of quality.. I guess for regular punters, that's more then good enough..

This service is not going to be much different to SKY HD's movies at the moment, and that's one hell of a popular service.. but it's bitrate is a little lower then I'd like (Audio and Video), but then I'm fussy, and still I watch quite a few movies on SKY HD throught the projector, and even with lowly regular DD it's more then passable..

Its horribly compressed and blurry - whats the point ? - is it actually better than DVD ??.

It is if you run it at the full 4mbit stream.

I am confused about this thread, what has it got to do with console gaming? A new web browser plugin that allows adaptive streaming bitrates. Great.

It's made by MS, who just announced 1080p streaming for the 360.

The tech was but the fact they have 1080p movies streaming instantly, cant see it being hard to implement on a 360 and over Live.

So the higher your connection speed, the less compressed the video will look? And the video will be 1080p all the time regardless?
