Just go for the MCSE, the 4 core modules & then 2 of your choice such as Exchange & SQL. Try to get your employeer to buy the Transcender mock exams as they very close to the real thing

I'd go with the MCSE - if you choose the correct track, you'll be able to pickup the MSCA en-route.

The exams have got harder over the years - I got my NT4 MCSE in 1999 and those were a joke. The Win2k (design) exams were more difficult and the Win2k3 ones slightly harder still.

I found the Cisco CCNA exam more difficult than anything MS offer, but would only advise going that route if you'll be moving into a role dealing with Cisco kit on a day-to-day basis, otherwise it's a bit of a waste and unlike the MS track there is a periodic recertification requirement.

Thats the thing that really puts me off the CISCO qualifications... having to retake the exams from time to time. I want to be able to take it, pass it, slap it on my CV then forget it.

Just stick in there and keep trying. Apply to everything you can find, and eventually you will be lucky. What qualifications do you have out of interest?

At school all i got was C in Art.French and I.T, the rest were D

I have a GNVQ in ICT and doing CompTIA A+ now, really want a computer related job, ASDA sucks.

IT is the only thing im good at.
