Firstly..I don't want to get into discussions about using other browsers such as chrome etc...meant in the nicest possible way :)

I've just upgraded from win7 to win10 and am used to IE as my preferred browser as opposed to the new edge....

However, I thought I'd try & stick with edge along with win10..

I have just one issue which I am missing and don't know how to resolve..if at all possible....in IE.....the search box where you'd enter your web address, I used to like how you could also get a drop down list of all the recent sites you've visited making navigation quick without having to retype addresses...I can't seem to get this working on Edge..apart from drop down web lists appearing only matching the current letters I'm inputting...

Is what I'm asking possible in Edge?

On a side note I am detesting the layout of win10...white title bars...no aero glass...(without having to download a third party app)....and nothing it's bringing to the table for me. Apart from that it's business as usual..Only went with the upgrade as I can see support for win7 being dropped not too far off...that and being ready for dx12.

Anyway..tia for any advice on my query..Andy.

Cheers dholdi..yes I realise that. for now trying to stick to Edge...see if it's any better....I can so far stick with it except the issue I have...that and the tabs being at the top! :/

I guess the closest would be to open history from the little three lines icon.

Settings > Personalisation > Colours > Show colour on start, task bar, action centre & title bar

Any good?

I use Chrome :(
Why are you trying to force yourself onto other browsers when there are already ones that do everything you want to do?

just playing with edge&win10 for the first time - there are many crimes against humanity , but, address bar completes on previous web-sites for me - see below (maybe bing is tracking me ?)

I previously used ie11 as my reserve browser if ff has a rendering problem;
lack of options on edge is my main criticism, so guess I will just continue with ie11 - I just want to add google.co.uk to the list of restricted sites to get rid of its stupid inane auto suggestions.
Since edge has no options cannot see why completion works for me.

I will soon have copied across the win 7 ff profile and add-ons, and then, productive business as usual

interesting - bing address bar will not autocomplete on google.... they do not have much confidence in their product

..... bogus comment - seems to work now

Just a case of it being a newer browser and one that's supposed to be more secure etc...thought I'd give it a go.

Yes I get something like that but the drop down list is not as comprehensive as
ie.

Of all the options available Edge is probably the worst.

Agree it's the worst where features are available...but I do think it's faster than my old IE11....it's very noticeable on the Daily Mail site...(yes I admit I read that site...but my excuses are that it's only because The Sun started charging lol). DM is sluggish on IE I find...esp using the mouse wheel to scroll...a lot smoother in Edge.

Isn't that like saying chlamydia is better than gonorrhea? Sure one is not as bad as the other, but you don't really want either.

No..only if you're reading things into my posts I've never quoted.....I never said I disliked IE11...nor never wanting it. I liked it and wanted to stay with it.....but decided I would try MS's follow up browser that came with win10....as opposed to a third party alternatives...and found it more responsive in certain situations...but lacking things I liked in IE11...nothing more.

I use Edge as my main browser with Chrome as a backup, I guess there must be something wrong with me.
