Yes folks, I have just seen a flying pig.

Fable III is the first game in question to appear...

http://store.steampowered.com/app/6720/

I never thought this would happen to be honest.

Raises MANY more questions though...

Will they bring their back catalogue across?
Is this an indication of lack of faith internally in the Games For Windows Marketplace?
Is this just a one shot deal?

Surely Gears of War/FSX/Halo series would still sell well on Steam.

Discuss.

Microsoft said today that the PC version of Fable III will be available on Steam at launch.

The game will hit both Steam and Games for Games for Windows Martketplace on May 20.

Those who pre-order through Games for Windows Marketplace will receive Fable: Lost Chapters – the start of the Fable saga – for free.

If you buy it on Steam, you’ll get the “Rebel’s Weapon & Tattoo Pack, a collection of four exclusive weapons and five exclusive tattoo sets to customize their rebel hero.”

The game’s the same as the 360 version, but features a Hardcore mode and 3D functionality, and you can pre-order starting today.

Well going by what the general opinion seemed to be in the Fable 3 thread, only AWPC seems care about Fable 3, everyone else said it was crap.

They could be negotiating for the rest of them, guess we'll not know till it happens.

I am not bothered about Fable but the fact a Microsoft published game has appeared on Steam is an interesting one.

Does the MS PC game division have someone with a brain now or something?

Why the change of heart?

Wow, very surprising. Microsoft have always been of the opinion why should we give away some of our revenue to another digital publisher when we have the means & resources to do it ourselves.

Guess years of doing it wrong have finally worn them down, though I suppose given that they've not had a major title released on the PC in years is also a factor.

And yeah GFWL is a given, they arn't going to drop that dead horse. Was quite interesting reading an interview with the lead Fable 3 PC dev on RPS, you could tell the embarrassment they had about having to use it.

Would love to have FSX on steam...........

As It takes forever to install it after i formated....

Totally agree! I would happily buy it on Steam again to be honest...

Also have to note that pre ordering Fable3 on steam gives you some silly preorder dlc. Pre order on GWFL and you get Fable 1 for free.
