Microsoft Habu

well i have a diamondback and copperhead. i prefer the copperhead, due to the shape and extra side buttons, feels easier to use in games and more responsive i guess. :)

While were on the subject, can anyone reccomend me a mouse thats more comfortable than the Logitech G5? I've got piano hands (long lol) The palm of my hands always end up on the mousemat & with the amount of gaming I do it gets kinda sore. . anyone got a reccomendation for a mouse that actually rests the whole of your hand on it?

The old G7 and Revolution are quite big. The DeathAdder is a nice size but I dunno how much bigger than a G5 it actually is.

I have a diamondback and a copperhead, the diamondback is more responsive imo as stated above. Is the deathadder any better than the diamondback?

I think the main problem for me isnt the size of the actual G5 its the finger buttons they dont go all the way to the bottom of the mouse & with me having piano fingers I'm inclined to bring my fingers back so that they reach the mose sensitive part thuse my palms end up on the mousemat.

I'd have to say yes - but of course that doesn't mean the Diamondback is poor by any stretch. It's still a great mouse.

The Deathadder is simply better - it's fairly difficult to describe why too. It just feels more responsive, faster while at the same time allowing for a lot of extra control.

Best way i can describe it relates to when you're sniping and you're trying to track a targets head at a distance. With my Diamondback my forearm would begin to feel tense as i strained to track the target but with the Deathadder it simply follows the path your hand guides it on. It's a wierd sensation - i thought i'd suddenly become much better... but it was the mouse! :( :p

You know what i completely understand what you're saying when im playing games like BF2 my forearm does feel like it has a slight ache when im tracking targets.

Seems like you two are saying the opposite. Darren, i thought the Copperhead and Diamondback had the same amount of buttons, or does the Copperhead have an extra button on the right side of the mouse.

But...

but the Death adder has a gay name...
Everything we've discussed is irrelevent because this is the most important thing to consider when buying a mouse. :p

Yh the button placement on the diamondback isnt the best but i'd still say its more responsive than my copperhead.

Hmm, that is rather odd. I've also got relatively long fingers (middle finger is about 4" long for reference) and I use the G7 without any issues. Part of my palm is always on the desk (don't bother with mousemats) and I just use it as a pivot point for moving the mouse, with the sensitivity set high enough to be comfortable to me I don't need to move my hand much at all and it never gets sore.

The MX1000 is even bigger than the G7 (by quite a way) so your palm might not touch the mousemat but they have stopped making it now.

That's exactly what i do, only my middle finger is a little longer than 3". Is this still possible with the DA?

Sorry I don't have a Deathadder to say for sure, I normally use a G7 or Intellimouse V3 (from the first time around). :)

Aye see I have my Tracking Resolution at 800dpi, I'll try it at 2000dpi see if that makes a difference lol

The Death Adder does lack on the fly sensitivity stuff but i find that it's not needed. The speed, smoothness and accuracy mean that a change in DPI is not necessarry. Indeed, you'll probably find that your efficiency going from standard to scoped sniping in FPS goes up with it.

Not true. You can have on the fly adjustability. Set one of the mouse buttons to Macro adn make sure the on the fly mode is enabled. when you press and hold the button, you can use the mouse wheel to adjust sensitivity. You can even get it to do an on screen vertical slider showing the amount. :)

Mouse mats? I've used the DA on a titan Megamat and currently have a Razer Mantis speed and control combo. I've also tested it on the Exactmat, but prefer the clothmats for the sheer size and feel of it.

I have had the G5, (old) Habu, G5 (new) and now the DA mice, the DA is simply the best of the lot for me. I just can't seem to get on with the shape of the Logitech mice, and the Habu, just didnt feel right in my hand, so I took a risk and tried the DA, which is just sooo much nice fit.

Keyboard combo? urm, I'm going to sound like an advert for Razer here...I've got the Tarantula, and a very nice keyboard it is too. :)

Went from a 518 to a DeathAdder. Its a great mouse. Was toying with getting a Habu but opted out.

Which did you prefer?

Elric, what was better about the DA to the G5 exactly, apart from the shape?

Also, i'm either going to get the Tarantula or G15; you ever used the latter?
I'm used to using my laptop for gaming, so i'm thinking the Tarantula might be better for me than the G15, but most of the keys aren't backlit. How good is the Tarantula?

That method sounds a little involved to me. Especially if you are in the heat of the battle. Do you not find the sensitivity pretty much ideal in general. I've never even thought while playing - 'goodness... i could just do with reducing the sensitivity about now'.

What do you think?

The main reason why i want on-the-fly sensitivity changing is because, if i'm using a sniper rifle in a game for example, i'm going to want to decrease the sensitivity.

The G5 seems like the perfect option for me. Is the laser sensor in it really not that good?
