Lattes Thoughts....
Nintendo win for originality and fun gaming, owning a nintendo wii will be great for few beers/party nights. Prancing around like a prat could bring a new form of interactivity suitable for temporary games playing sessions. Though perhaps just too energetic for some or long gaming hardcore runs. The novelty could wear off no different to a steering wheel or lightgun, but its certainly got potential.
Is it just me but for PS3 you have one hellva expensive console that has to prove itself and is going against what seems a pretty awesome X360 onslaught not just with quality titles and 3rd party support but also other digital media support with HDTV trailers, music videos etc.
Wow Sony are showing how to buy music through your console dashboard etc, boring wake up Sony, please. Music piracy will continue to grow and if people can easily transfer their music from other devices their not going to pay to get it through a PS3 probably with DRM. Apple and ipod are different thats a portable music device and does its purpose. What did they show of a headset or online gaming or even anything even close to what LIVE offers already?
Sony just seem to be going in all directions with no real focus on actually setting the pace. Personally i think they have a powerfull system but wont really pan out any better than 360 other than have some exclusive franchises.
Last thoughts but to me 360 and live seems better than what sony are offering, and for less money. As for new controller interactivity it wont be for everyone the bread and butter of the gaming industry will always be with hardened gamers who are used to sitting on their ass with a now wireless controller. I understand nintendos attitude but as for Sonys new controller it seems more limited than the "wii" controller and a half hearted attempt to copy it.
Sony your in bother, and remember the first Sony 1080p HDTV isnt available in the UK till approx October costing a nice approx £2500, so much for 1080p being a big advantage if a VAST majority wont be able to see it.
