Microsoft Launch Event - 6/10 @ 15:00 BST

See Nokia 1020.

Not a jump to want an upgrade from its 41MP.

The thing is though, do you even need that 41 MP? At that high a res, you'd want an interchangeable lens camera system (DSLR or Mirrorless). To each their own I guess.

Why on Earth would you want a 50MP camera on a smartphone?

Haha, trolling right? :)

The way Nokia implements high megapixel with their Pureview cameras is actually pretty good. It allows a lot of leeway for cropping and is basically like having an optical zoom (certainly a lot better than digital zoom on most other phone cameras), while the image quality is still very good. My 808 is definitely the best camera on a phone I've ever had, and I no trouble in saying that it rivals even the best camera phones today, despite having been released 3 years ago.

The downside is that you need to have a steady hand, as it takes several photos at once to then interpolate the data (or something like that), and the Nokias with really high MP counts (1020 and 808) have a large hump to accomodate the sensor and other stuff, but it's a tradeoff I'm very willing to put up with given the image quality. I just wish more companies would be willing to do it.

No, you just want the way it works, wouldn't make sense to change a lens the way the res works on the nokias.

Ah, I was thinking how superflous high MP would be without a larger sensor. Makes sense though - can imagine your hand need to be pretty blinking still to be able to crop.

Hoping that the new Surface will tempt me back into the tablet market.

Same - been supremely underwhelmed with my iPad and only reason I still have it, is because of magazine subscriptions. Out of interest, does W10 have mag subs like iOS does?

I'd be very surprised if there weren't any apps for subscriptions.

Just bought a Surface Pro 3!!! Not to worry, very pleased with it. I'd love a Windows 10 mobile but i'm tied to the iPhone because of security policies at work.

Can you cancel / wait or send it back in the meanwhile?

Probs a good idea, even if you want to keep the 3, as the prices will surely come down?

There's no 1020 replacement anyway. It's been canned and won't be looked at again unless wp marketshare grows. So don't get your hopes up.
