Microsoft Launch Event - 6/10 @ 15:00 BST

Ms really is bad at promoting, product launch, pr etc.

However for those that wait any issues should be resolved. Personally spending that much, I would wait till surfacebook2, you know it'll be a massive leap after all the feed back they get.
 
Think you're bang on target Glaucus - I've swung to and fro far too many times to count, and also think I'll wait for another generation "Book"in a few years' time. My Macbook pro 2012 has a bunch of life left in it yet.

Perhaps it's the late release date of it that may have changed my opinion for me, but the more I think about it, the more I feel that going for the modestly specced Surface Pro ( i5 256 8gb) model will be more than enough for what I need.... and I've now pressed the order button on exactly that.

I've ordered the i5 version which should be arriving hopefully end of this week or early next week. Wasn't planning to but after seeing some gaming vids I'm tempted to install Steam on it, I can give Civ 5 a go.

I'm in the US next week. May pick up a band 2. Still frustrated to not have 950xl on vodafone website yet

Sticking with the surface pro 3 and skipping this generation.
 
Ok I just checked out some vids of SP4 running games on YT.

Quite impressive I have to say! Sorely tempted. But I wonder the difference between the i5 and i7...

The i7 has Iris graphics which has a large dedicated cache, and seems to significantly help with performance. CPU performance also sees a small boost. Kind of like another level of cache for the chip to use. I was tempted to go for the i7 but... I didn't really feel like waiting an extra month :p.
 
i5 version. Pretty sure most of the vids showing the SP4 running games is on the i5 version. The i7 version seems to be a bit more rare at the moment...

check reddit microsoft surface. quite a few benchmarks there mate.

on paper specs it is not much of a surprise . why is it hard to believe? the 540 on paper is twice as fast on paper mate so expecting 70%+ performance gains is no real surprise.

the 540 has the proper build in gpu that skylake is raving about

Yes Ive seen some comments, although not sure without seeing benchies....

SP3 i5 vs i7 wasnt that much difference I believe...
