Microsoft pulls fast one at E3 using NVidia graphics cards.

Xbox One is just a cheap,un-upgradable bare bones PC anyway, with silly priced peripharals.

Doesnt even have some of the old advantages of console gaming either (i.e. not having to install games, Not as much DRM, being able to sell games).

Wonder how far into next year it'll be before Xbox 1 is priced at £299 ?
Least anyone with an old 80's video recorder still under there tv won't consider Xbox 1's design out of place.

Xbox one is a generation too early. People are not ready for the all connected world yet and nor is the infrastructure in place.

Damn the PS1-PS2 era is coming back. Microsoft is going to get crushed with this gen by the looks of it =\

They are but it's all their own doing, insistent on implementing features nobody wants, like always on drm, always connected kinect with other things have literally driven over half of their customer base into the hands of Sony.

Do you all remember what happened the last time Sony released a superior console at $100 less then their rivals? They killed the sega saturn, which was the start of sega's demise.

They didn't just kill the Saturn (which was actually a superior machine, just sadly had terrible marketing) the Playstation also defeated the N64 which is the console the XB1 most reminds me of (Nintendo lost the plot and ended up with an expensive machine with an obsolete cartridge system resulting in games costing 2-3x as much as Sony's).

Its kind of funny/sad that the PS4 is starting out in a much stronger position than its rivals, not because its really good but because their bad :(

Sega's demise was when they released the mega cd. That console was a joke. M$ has really screwed them selfs this time for sure.

Not really, the MCD was pretty poor however if Sony had never launched the PSX then the Saturn would have been able to fend off the N64 leaving Sega in a much stronger position when the Dreamcast was launched. Sega's mistake was to launch the console at silly money as they were first to market and then they didn't drop it quick enough once Sony hit the scene with a marketing campaign the size of a small moon.

Sega's biggest mistake was Shenmu lol.

Do we forsee a massive u-turn by MS on their policies or is it too late for them to reverse the frankly terrible decisions they have made with the XBone?

The PS4 appears to be creaming the presales market already and various polls suggest around 80% of people will be going that route to upgrade their existing console.

But this is how a lot of these sort of things are done isn't it? It's not emulation (wonder why people keep mentioning that when it obviously doesn't fit the bill as emulation requires a lot of power so would be very difficult to emulate to a decent quality so not a good idea to do that at a games demonstration) it's simple dev kits. Games are made and run on PC's of course and dev kits will allow PC's to make and run those games so sure it's a PC but that's not such a big surprise.

I'm not supporting Xbox One or anything but that just seems like the obvious reason it would be a PC rather than an Xbox One. As for the money hatting to not show PS4 versions of games, that's just sad. I don't care if people consider it 'business' since I would say that's the worst kind of business. These games will get shown eventually and be known to be coming out for PS4, it'll probably happen before the consoles even come out so rather than waste money on that they could have tried to get another exclusive. It's pathetic that they rely on trying to pay devs to keep quiet about multi-platform games that they have no control over anyway, it could be put to good use and we could see a decent game come out of this but instead they are that desperate they need to try and waste money just to stop announcements a game will be on the PS4? Part of the reason I hate MS (I am primarily an xbox fan but probably jumping ship this gen) is because I got tired of timed 'exclusives' and console exclusives since in the end you just have nothing. I felt like I bought a console that wanted to pretend it had games while Sony or PC got them eventually anyway.

TBH I don't think they'll be changing their mind any time soon according to this video

It's not too late but if they are too stubborn then it'll be harder. Quite frankly it's just a matter of not buying the console because if they don't get enough sales I believe they'll reverse the decisions and change the policies before they'll take huge loss of sales and market share to Sony. Clearly they want to try and impress with games first to see if they can get away with it but if they see that even huge investments in games is not enough when they chuck terrible DRM our way then eventually they will have to buckle or lose out tons of money and market share.

I was an Xbox fan (original Xbox was my favourite console ever whereas 360 has been pretty decent but not too great since it lost too many exclusives too early) and I'm wanting to jump ship. I see stuff like Diablo 3, League of Legends and Sim City have issues with online all the time so they want me to buy the Xbone and not worry about there servers ever going down? Fat chance. I'll never have issues myself like my ISP having an off day, swapping ISP or anything? Fat chance. Microsoft will lose out to Sony because even hardcore MS fans will see that they are not doing this right, I am jumping ship because every time they ask major nelson about what happens when the servers shut off (i.e. will the console become a brick) he seems too evasive. No way would I ever spend money on a console that's bound to die and not be usable at the end of it's life, I like to keep my consoles and come back to them when I feel like it, Xbone is designed to die and force you to move on pretty much.

I would have expected them to do this anyway. These stalls at E3 are not there to show the hardware of the Xbox One, its to show the software and its features, along with an insight of how these will work in games. I makes sense to run them on PC as they have more control of the OS behind the games to either lock off features or show demos and things easier. This is the correct way to go about it. Seen any game reveal/reviews? They jump to the end of levels, quickly load a new mission, its how a reveal should be.
