Microsoft pulls fast one at E3 using NVidia graphics cards.

But this is how a lot of these sort of things are done isn't it? It's not emulation (wonder why people keep mentioning that when it obviously doesn't fit the bill as emulation requires a lot of power so would be very difficult to emulate to a decent quality so not a good idea to do that at a games demonstration) it's simple dev kits.

It is emulation purely because it not running natively on an Xbone console.

It wouldn't be difficult to emulate Xbone because the console uses PC architecture and a Windows OS, emulation only typically runs poorly because you usually have x86 hardware emulating vastly different hardware architectures.

I would have expected them to do this anyway. These stalls at E3 are not there to show the hardware of the Xbox One, its to show the software and its features, along with an insight of how these will work in games. I makes sense to run them on PC as they have more control of the OS behind the games to either lock off features or show demos and things easier. This is the correct way to go about it. Seen any game reveal/reviews? They jump to the end of levels, quickly load a new mission, its how a reveal should be.

But rumours are that it was running on a Titan. That means it might not be a very true or fair representation of what the Xbox One can actually do with regards to frame rate/graphics quality

At lest ps4 presentations ran on PS4 development kits....

Which would be a pc with dedicated video card, windows 7 and some form PlayStation front end. Basically just like the Xbox one development kits.

That's what a development kit is, a pc that emulates the functions of the console, so that developers can develop games for it.

Exactly, given that Xbone is using native PC hardware they could have probably emulated it using an FX8320 and a mid range Radeon, instead they chose Socket 2011 (probably a 3930K or better) and the best GPU money can buy, they could have increased the graphical detail for all we know - first impressions and all that.

I will be going ps4. Just finished playing the last of us on ps3 and tbh it put most games on any other platform to shame. Sony have all the best exclusive games on there console and to me they are a class apart from most other single player games.

Microsoft can use sli titans with all the visuals they want but there exclusives were no where near as good as uncharted 2/3, infamous 1/2, the last of us and god of war 3/4 to name a few.

I must admit: I'm a massive playstation fanboy, not to the extent of forum arguments and the like, but even if the Xbox was a bit of a better option overall (like PS3/360) I'd still get the playstation :D.

Luckily no such claims can be made this time round. PS4 has better hardware, better exclusives (IMO), and with PS+, a better online package. And none of the DRM, game ownership, always online nonsense.

Yea it does seem to be a no Brainer this time round. I went xbox360 last time round only because it released first. It was only when i started playing the ps3 exclusives on my mates ps3 that you could actually see the difference in the 2 consoles and quality of game.
