Microsoft Release 'Debugger Canvas'

Check out the video. Looks like a neat little tool. I've installed it, but not had a chance to use it yet. I'd imagine this is something that will be in VS2013 that MS have released early as an add on.

Note that it's only available to those with Visual Studio Ultimate edition (not Professional or lower).

I tried it a few months ago in work, it gave me some nasty issues and never worked properly but it might have still been in beta. I'll give it ago tomorrow.

I just tried this and it appears very slow even on a tiny test app. I don't think I'll try it on the 31k lines of code I am actually debugging today

Unfortunately the best thing about the current build is that it uninstalls easily. Once installed even with the canvas disabled debugging is so slow it is unusable. ie 10-15 seconds to step between two lines of code.

I'd say that really it needs to be used when the new version of VS comes out.
