Hi all :)

Are any of you lot getting this microsoft security pop-up when opening up a new tab on your web browser? I'm getting abit fed-up of the damn thing now. I have scanned for viruses malware and nothing is showing up on scans. is there anything I can do to stop this from happening, and I dont mean someone telling me to stop using the internet or not to open new tabs :p

Any advice plz.

If you're getting popups telling to you download something when you open a browser then you have teh aids. Reinstall windose.

Nope, I use Bitdefender (AV) and both Malwarebytes and Spybot S&D for malware as somethings may avoid one but not both bit's of software.

I had never heard of iobit until you mentioned it.

Bitdefender iirc has been deemed the best AV 3 years in a row (either it is the best or they've paid off the testers 3 years in a row :D).

Malwarebytes has been the defacto last shot at restoring an infected system for as long as I can remember. Not 100% convinced the premium version is worth it but I've paid for it just to support them for how many times they've saved my arse in the past.

Your PC has a STV (Sexually Transmitted Virus). You've been watching too much Pron!

Follow the advice above or better still, format and install Windows again.

Works very well with "Advanced SystemCare 9" and "Avast", which are both free and then of course Malwarebytes, which I run once every 14 days, but it's rare if it catches anything with my setup (knock on wood).
