Really would recommend just reinstalling windows and going in fresh. Sure, malwarebytes might get it, but there might be something it doesn't get. Back int he day of disc drives and HDDs and windows taking 2 hours to install I could understand the reluctance, but it's like a 5 minute job these days.

Don't worry. A foreign Microsoft advisor will be happy to call you and fix the problem for the low low cost of... all your money.

^Yep, I ran malwarebytes & bitdefender and now things are back to norm.

It hasn't been that good after they were found to have been using malwarebytes definition database without permission and removed it.
