Microsoft SkyDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox?

Is there a *minimum* file size limit on Google Drive? I tried syncing a load of small 8k files and it refused to upload them. Tried it in Dropbox and it was fine.

I've got both Dropbox (paid) and Google Drive, the lack of lan sync on google drive means anything of a decent size takes a fair while to sync across all my machines, also I've had a couple of times that I've found the cpu stuck at 100% and it's been the google drive process that's been keeping it there.
Going to stick with dropbox for a while longer and see if google drive can catch up

Hey Guys,

Posted this in the enterprise forum but this could be better!

Basically our company works from satellite offices (home addresses) throughout the country, these being area managers, and also CAD designers.

Now all information is stored locally with many emails transmitting the files which we need between us. Mainly between area managers and the CAD operative dealing with the files.

What I would like to do is have the following:

1. Central Backup - We deal with a lot of files and quotations, therefore it would be good to have a online backup.

2. File Sharing - The ability to have us Area Managers be able to find CAD files and drag them into emails etc to send them ourselves to save time.

Does anyone know a good UK based Cloud service which could do the above?

Thanks.

When will Google Drive work on Google Apps domains? I know on my normal Gmail address it gave me a notifier when it's ready .. but on all my Apps domains it just tells me

Google Drive is not yet enabled
for the *** domain.

:(

Would be nice to connect this together with the office, and as a replacement to Dropbox. In Malaysia upload speeds to Dropbox sucks (I have 20mb up here) but Google has local servers and can max out the connection on upload!

Oh and an iPhone / iPad app would be nice too :D

Really informative and helpful post guys.

I'm just about to get an iPad (oh ye) and I need to share between that, my laptop and work PC. I was gonna try out Dropbox but as I already have a Hotmail account I can just fire straight on to Skydrive. It seems easy enough to use. Didn't even realise it was there the whole time anyway when using my Hotmail account.

It says I have 7GB of free space. How do I get the 25GB free?

You can't get 25GB free with SkyDrive anymore, it was for people with an account before April 25th (ish).

I use SkyDrive, free 7GB, I can use it to backup my pictures/document on my home pc automatically. I did try Google's offering, but found they don't support symbolic links in windows. So I'd need to make 2 copies of photos/docs. With SkyDrive I can put symbolic links in the SkyDrive folder and it'll pick up stuff on my other drives.

Just hope MS come up with an official app for android - the current user made app is a bit pants.

Also being able to access your files via a browser is very handy. Editing office files in a browser is also a bonus.

My webspace provider recently added a 2GB cloud drive to its service for free (1and1) so I use this and also Google Drive.

I use GDrive simply because I had a GDocs account which migrated over. I like the fact I can view and update spreadsheets, documents etc on my phone/PC without actually having the appropriate software on the devices e.g. MS Word, Open Office etc.

I also have an FTP account and use Syncback Pro but I guess this is not technically a cloud service.

Google Drive at the moment. $4.99 a month for 100GB is great.

However, Google have got a hell of a lot of work to do.

Android App also needs work

Ability to create folders, move files around... Come on!

I'll stick with Drive for a couple of months in the hope that development moves swiftly. Dropbox is too expensive for additional storage, not so keen on Skydrive until an official Android App is released.

skydrive does seem very cheap and android skydrive explorer seems to be pretty good as an un-official app...
I need to spend a bit of time playing around with their behaviours before moving off my paid access of dropbox - things like how they react when a drive isn't attached etc is pretty important to me (dropbox deletes the files ffs!)

Been using Dropbox for agesss, and someone mentioned Skydrive so thought I'd check it out. Definitely going to be using that instead of dropbox now as it works pretty much the same and a whooping 25GB of storage instead of 2GB from Dropbox.
I'll probably keeping Dropbox for use of the Public folder though.

I've got DropBox - 9Gb and Google Drive - 5Gb storage.

I mainly use DropBox to exchange stuff between my Work PC and Home when I'm working from Home! :)

Google Drive is only for random stuff (only been using it for 2 weeks!)

Just seen skydrive is far better value if you want more space

Dropbox max 50gb = $99
Skydrive max 100gb =$55 + you get your original 7Gb on top off that so actually 107GB

125gb if you had an existing sky drive/hotmail account and remembered to opt in when it was changed recently (or of course 25gb free)
