Apparently the Surface delay emails are a mistake. The date you were quoted at order time is the date you should expect to receive it.

For anyone who gets a Surface or other RT device you can now download the final RTM version of Office 2013 on the 26th October. MS finished it ahead of schedule (shipping RT devices have a preview/beta).

Ars Technica reports that a final version of Office 2013 RT is now available for Windows RT users. The 580MB update nixes the "Preview" branding across Office 2013 RT and is available from Windows Update. The early release means that Windows RT users will now have access to a final version of Office 2013 RT on October 26th, rather than a preview one.

I was reading that the first devices, if you ever reset them you'll understandably need to reapply the update. Later devices will have the RTM from the start, but no idea when they'll start to ship.

You don't, or use DSR. Seeing as its selling out, then why have stock stuck in shops.

That's what MS have said so far, they may well change it, you can after all buy xbox in shops. It might just be pre-orders etc, untill they have loads of units who knows.

spec wise it looks ok from here http://www.microsoft.com/Surface/en-GB/surface-with-windows-rt/specifications

but not a fan of Tegra 3 quad as that cpu is terrible and not efficient.

they should have slapped on a S4 imo

This is what makes the Surface (and Windows 8) so much more productive.

Multitasking is going to be be great, and the next amazing, magical thing Apple "Invent" for the next version of IOS.

My only gripe with the multitasking is that you can't dock the home screen. Opening another app feels a little more disruptive than it could be as a result.
