Microsoft Surface RT Priced

Exactly, theoretically Firefox and Chrome could run on RT if Microsoft allowed them to use the hidden APIs which IE10 uses. For me this is one of the big advantages of Clovertrail over ARM, IE10 is very nice but it's complete lack of extensions and sync with Android makes it a pain to use.

I never did agree with the EU's browser choice ruling, but maybe Mozilla or someone can use it as leverage to get other browsers onto WinRT? Fingers crossed...

So how does Apple get away with Safari as you cannot change the default browser on ALL of its devices?
At least MS says..hey..if you make the App, we can let customers decide.

I doubt it, EU have allready looked into rt and the browser and have declared they have zero issue with it.

However if ms want rt to succeed I feel they need to allow this.
Or sort what ever the issue out. Maybe include the Apis as part of winRT.

Thinking about it, it's probably as ms do not have a large marketshare on mobile devices. But becuase w8 is also desktop the rulling still applies on that.

Correct. The general bias is unbelievable.

It's a whole 30g heavier than the current iPad (3rd gen for the nitpickers) yet has a significantly larger screen. Reviewers get away with saying it "feels thicker" even though the measurements put it at the same or thinner than the iPad.

The camera looks pants but it's not there for taking still pictures, it's there for video. The lack of apps is a legitimate complaint.

lack of fart apps?

The website was originally "ship by 26/10 for delivery by 30/10". And the order confirmation said "for delivery by 26/10".

There was a mess up at the weekend when they mailed to say it had changed to 02/11 which was later rescinded. However the order status never changed back to 26/10.

All orders are now indicating 1-2 weeks on the website, which I guess is for the 64GB models as the others are out of stock.

26/10, 30/10, 02/11, 1-2 weeks. Take your pick...

If they just plug a few of the big gaps it would suit me fine. Some native apps for the big web services, Facebook etc. An Audible app would be nice too. My app count for iOS is measured in tens, not hundreds or thousands and it will be the same for Windows.

Quality > Quantity.

Audible is a launch partner, well on wp8 anyway, so would have thought it would be on rt/metro as well.

Audible is the partner being used to demonstrate voice control and has featured in some of their keynotes.

Top tip, taken from WPCentral comments.

OK for those of you in the UK goto ups site and ad click tracking
then click tracking by refrence
then rather than package or frieght click Mail Innovations
then fill the rest in.
although it will find it it might not show a delivery date as mine does not :D but at least i know its on its way

Also I should add you need to use your order number as the reference.

Only thing is...you can put any reference in and it returns the same "Your search found 1 package matching your package reference criteria" with no other information available.

All you who have pre ordered, some good news and finally some figures

What what's more impressive, nothing to do with stream.

Only 6% off apps on the windows store do not support RT
Almost all applications are available in both x86 and x64 architectures. Only two apps appear to solely target Windows RT (ARM), 31 target only Windows 8 x64 and don’t have Windows 8 x86 or Windows RT support. The gap I first noticed some time ago is still there, however. While almost all apps support Windows 8 on x86 and x64, 6% of apps do not support Windows RT on ARM at this time. This may change after GA when developers can test on Windows RT systems – but it may always stay lower, reflecting the challenges of developing WinRT apps on Windows RT that I have heard from several developers.
