looks good but wait until your folks are round for a visit and your coffee table keeps getting covered in porn pop ups :p

made me giggle, that would be fun with the in-laws over

on a serious note, thats just gone top of my gadget wanted list

We spent millions of dollars and thousands of hours creating an advanced interface to manage your digital pictures....... which is just as messy and awkward as having a pile of "real" photographs.

Still, its a great concept even if it only uses 1/10th of the potential.
Might wait for the Apple counter or Linux hack though :D

god dam slow ass microsoft site loads on ie7 eventually and is sound but no video, had to rebuffer it again

:D Classic. We know that is going to happen.

Looks like a really nice progression of technology this. Hope it is released and can meet expectations.

The power of WPF in Vista eh? :)
I was going to say. All the visuals in the videos are perfectly possible already - it's getting all the devices to talk to each other by chucking them on the table that's going to be the harder part.

Lets all put cold drinks on a rather expensive table so the condensation goes everywhere, and whilst we're at it, let's chuck a Zune in to scratch it.

you not seen a glass coffee table before? they can take some abuse. :D

Yup. Surface is just a marketing way for Microsoft to start making people understand the graphical advancements present in Vista. I think when this eventually does reach the consumer level it will be much more like Tablet PC v2.0.

I'd guess Windows Vienna will incorporate some of the graphical elements on demonstration here too.

more like 2012 knowing microsoft
Negatory. Microsoft are keen to follow up quickly after Vista and I'd bet it'll be Q4'09 at the latest.

Vienna afterall is just a new shell GUI that takes full advantage of WPF. They'll barely have to break a sweat this time. All the hard work and foundations were done in Vista.
