Microsoft take the biscuit (again!)

I posted that this was the case last week at the local retail store here where my friend works. I mentioned it in the thread about the lad who was worried that his Xbox360 Elite box had been opened.

As for Microsoft treating their customers like ****, stop being so Anti MS, Microsoft have the best Customer Support I've ever dealt with (note: Microsoft, not Xbox Live), so I don't see your point?

MS customer support is quite good, one thing I found sony to be better at was that when I called sony and said my ps3 had developed a fault ( which was a lie, I had scratched it and wanted a replacement ), I rang them on friday and by monday the courier was at the door with a new ps3 which he exchanged for my one. This suprised me due to the 2 - 3 week turnaround for my 360 repair.

You've been luckier than me, mate... have had bad experiences dealing with Microsoft where I work. Luckily we have on-site MS bods that I can go and shout at to help get things moving, but generally speaking, I've found them to be pretty bad overall.

edit: to clarify, this relates to Windows & MS applications, and isn't to do with the Home & Entertainment division... so no idea what they're like for providing support.

You clearly have had no dealings with them then?

I've dealt with them twice and both occasions,

1) They took at least 20 mins to answer the phone.
2) Both struggled with basic english, and it must have taken me at least 10-15mins to explain my problem, several times.
3) 25+ days to return a console from repair, sometimes longer..

I fail to see great service...

I've dealt with Microsoft several times, mainly to do with Windows Operating Systems, but in the past, Xbox and Xbox360 as well as Xbox Live. As stated, only Live were poor.

However, once again you've jumped on a comment which in full of insinuation that I have 'invented' what I've said rather than actually encountered it.

Yep, any problems I've had have been dealt with promptly and effeciently except for cancelling an XBox Live subscription >_<

lol, i know a certain hardware store that has a blue forum that sell 2pin plug appliances sometimes, my new Asus 19" widescreen TFT had one that came this week, lucky i had a spare kettle plug that fitted

Maybe the government has started "operation 2 pin plug" on us! someone stop them!
on a serious note, it is a bit weird how there is 2 pin plugs popping up, maybe like beepcake said, its an outsourced company mucking up orders.

I've read this in complete bafflement. Are you guys kidding me?

The two pin plug will be the connection at the end of the kettle lead that plugs into the power brick, not for plugging into the mains?

This indicates that the 360s have got the new 65mn insides that require less power and has been rumoured and talked about for a while now.

I've never used Microsoft's customer service apart from getting my Xbox 360 replaced, but I don't consider spending 30 minutes on hold waiting to talk to someone in Bangalore to be a good customer service experience.

You really think so? Wouldnt be much of a problem if that was the case would there?

That's the complete opposite of the dealings I had with MS, I couldn't fault their CS.

Quite, my Shuttle system was exactly the same, luckily PSU cables are a dime a dozen and i had 5 lying around, otherwise i would have been mighty miffed.

Very common really, not sure why some people think its so terrible, I could write half a page regarding the worst customer service i've had in my life regarding a MP3 walkman bought from a Sony Centre.

I think this is the plug that goes into the wall.

Afaik the Falcon/65nm chip's haven't even been released in the US yet.

I work at the 'popular highstreet catalogue' store as stockroom manager, but I am on my holiday so I couldnt check up the briefing. It does sound like its the retailer that is trying to cut cost as it will mean all their xbox 360 will have to be marked as Q.C return back to distrubution center, check each one and then sent back again into stock, which will a) increase transport cost which they are trying to cut back severely lately and b) loss of sales as there wont be any 360 instock and they are currently on promotion (last time I checked).

I very much doubt its 100% Microsoft's fault
