Microsoft: We Will Ship Games On Steam Again

I've no problem with the windows store. I actually like all the features. Just feel that this is how they're going to try to get console prices for PC games which I am completely against.

Pretty sure all top EA titles (Dragon age, Battlefield, Mirrors Edge, etc) are only sold on Origin so that's not strictly true.

Didn't think I would have to caveat (as assumed people would know) but I meant their latest titles. I.e. Inquisition, 4, battlefront and Catalyst.

EA have kept exclusivity on their flagships much like MS will.

I'm really not against that. You can often find games cheaper on PC than on console which is nice for us, but that doesn't mean prices for console games are overly expensive, either. We're very lucky that games dont cost $80-100 on the regular, which they probably should to support the insane production costs of games these days along with taking inflation into account.

But instead, they have resorted to DLC, Season Passes, pre-order incentives and microtransactions to supplement revenue. They're not being greedy, they're dealing with not being able to raise the price of their games because people wouldn't understand.

MS need to get there act together, too many times they have released a statement on how they are going to support the pc but on each and every occasion fail to deliver.

This, it's like there's no corporate memory there or something, like nobody hangs around in MS long enough to remember when it fell flat on its face last time around.

Anybody else feel PS is saying that through gritted teeth? Vive has massively changed valve and trumped some of MS store front plans with their VR support. Next thing we'll know is Vive being rolled out as the Scorpio VR gaming gear........ :D

I jest of course....

What publishers do with specific games is beside the point, the fact remains that you can buy games that are delivered through other rival digital distribution platforms through Steam.

Makes me wonder if Microsoft is going to try and reach out to a bigger audience, by putting their games on Mac and Linux/SteaOS too, but only from within Steam.
If you can't beat them join them, sort of thing. (Edit: haha, and I posted that without reading the article)

If these games come with an extra annoying layer of drm like GFWL i'm not so sure I want to buy them anyway. It's not that long ago when GFWL shut down and it wasn't clear if our games that used GFWL would even work any more.

The only thing MS have to is what's best for their business, it's funny all the people always whinging about MS whilst using MS products to do so.

So we're meant to ignore the times where MS has waffled about getting back with pc gaming then nothing coming of it? Actions speak louder than words, they can make all the announcements they want but if nothing comes of it people are entitled to voice their complaints.

So using your logic, if I use product X made by brand A, I cannot complain if product Y made by brand A sucks?

I cant see it happening but it would be nice to have a single platform for games on pc.

Its annoying to have like 5 different platforms to play games on.

They are starting to redeem themselves as long as they do what they've said now, I like this cross play with PC and Xbox, I was originally a console player before I went to PC, I have a few friends on the Xbox that I've lost contact with, It will be great to play with them again.

That's not what I'm saying, of course people have the right to complain, but it's always the same rubbish spouted.

While MS may have made numerous mistakes, the amount they have given far far outweighs the issue people have with them.

Without MS we would never have the fun we do today via our PC's.

Yup this will be brilliant when it comes about.

How about just make a store that works.

+1,

I tried to play the free Forza game on the store but I get told I have no internet connection every time I boot it up so I'm not going to chance buying a game through the store.
In truth if it had actually worked I would have bought Gears of War by now but it didn't so I haven't.

If they made Gears of War or Quantum Break available on either Steam, U-play, GOG or Origin I'd buy straight away.
