Is it worth the change? I was thinking of getting it today but i'm a little unsure if it's the right move at this time and the of course the price!

I do a fair bit with my PC, Watching DVDs, Gaming, Internet mostly quite a lot and heard about lack of Driver Support, Programs being incompatible such as Norton Anti-Virus 2007, Memory hogging etc.

Need quality advice.

Firstly, you need to learn about how vista manages memory. It is not a resource hog, and is considerably more efficient than XP. Also, why do people buy 2GB RAM then complain when they see it being used?

Program compatibility is generally good. Some drivers are still choppy, but that's hardly M$'s fault anyway.

And who the hell uses Norton?

Get Vista Home Premium.

Get it. Had it running for approx 6 weeks. No problems at all. You could always dual boot it with XP.

I've decided to get Microsoft Window Vista Ultimate, What's the best compatible Anti-Virus Available for Vista. A friend of mine tried to install Symantic Nortons Anti-Virus 2007 and it wouldn't install due to an incompatability issue.

Well I am using Avast 4.7 Pro. It seems to work very well with my Vista Ultimate.

What are your system specs by the way?

Looks good, the only small problem I see is your sound card. I am not sure if they have updated their drivers for that sound card. Will need to check though. :)

This is a decision I will make soon because I use the computer a lot for work, gaming and to surf. In my opinion its worth the price atm of the OEM edition but I have found it 20 pound cheaper so will be buying it from them. Can't mention the competitor though.

I think its worth every penny for the OEM edition and hopefully will be gettin it.

I work for a college and I currently have the business n edition and find that everything I use works even drivers. I get no problem now. Maybe you should demo vista on your computer first, download a free eval copy to make sure your computer will be fine with it. Hope this helps. Enjoy.

Just visited the Creative Labs Site, Vista Drivers for the X-Fi v2.13.0012 was released on the 15th March 2007. Vista Nvidia Drivers are v100.65 was released on the 20th February 2007.

Just got hold of Kaspersky Anti-Virus v6 had a good read and it's all Vista Compatible so thumbs up on that. Is this the best Anti-Virus Option? Also are games playing alright with Vista any problems wise looking to get C&C3 next week.

Kaspersky and NOD32 both have extremely high detection rates. The only fundamental difference between the two are the interfaces tbh (of which I prefer the former).

Mista.Gee, what you can also do is download the Windows Vista Upgrade Asvisor from the Microsoft website. It scans the whole computer, and even checks the programs for compatibilty. It also lets you know which version of vista is good for the computer.

Worth a look anyway?

:)

Downloaded the drivers no problems, what about gaming will it be ok for gaming looking forward to playing C&C 3 next week.

well gaming is about 90%. Proformance wise anyway. All driver dependand at the moment though.

Im using it and it isnt anywhere near as stable as XP under massive load.

Adobe Lightroom with a folder of about 2000 RAWs made it fully crash.

I think im one of the few that will be actually push a PC into serious pressure but I will say that XP never locked up.

Im still gonna stick with Vista but be cautious what I do since I need blazing speed and efficiency

It does however handle basic tasks more efficiently than XP.
