Microsoft Windows XP Media Centre Remote Controller

Does anyone know if this remote requires Windows XP Media Centre to operate? Or will XP Home suffice?

Only want something to change volume with and pause videos really. Don't need anything fancy...

Works in XP Pro. Operates WMP, and Winamp (enable hotkeys)

To use a media center remote fully need media center, but some features work fine. All the remote does is map shortcuts to given keys in the absence of media centre which you get on XP Pro, XP MCE, Vista Ultimate and Vista Premium.

OK, cool. Interesting that you both said it works on XP Pro, but not mentioned Home - won't it work with XP Home then?
