Hi, im trying to write a letter on Microsoft Office 2007, on Windows Vista but it is being really silly with me. Im trying to write my address but when i press enter it gives a 2 line gap instead of going right underneath the other word.

So it looks like Address here

Second bit <-- Writing this post the s is under the a but not when the post is finished

I want the second bit to go right underneath the start. Please help me

What do you have the line spacing set to? It’s in the third group of buttons under the home tab, in the middle of the bottom row. Try setting it to 1.0 if it isn’t already.

Otherwise you can try highlighting the text > right clicking on paragraph > tick the box that says “don’t add space between paragraphs of the same style”, I sometimes get a bug where it adds extra lines and that fixes it.

Failing all that, shift+enter will overwrite any formatting and just start a new line directly under the previous. Ctrl+Enter starts a new page.

I tried the control and enter that just makes a new page. The spacing says Before 0 pt and After 10 pt. What should i change it to?

The shift enter is working fine :). Just had a new problem with word when i try align it right it just totally messes up so ive got to press tab each time i want it in the right spot. Oh well :P. Thanks for the help guys :D
