microwave broke?

anyone here know much about microwaves?
if so, everytime i microwave something it makes a strong burning smell, it still 'does the job' it just smells any ideas whats wrong?

I don't use them so wouldn't know. But get it checked out ASAP. Is it still under warranty? Manufacturer?

Yup, get it checked out, last thing you want is to cook your pancreas while you are defrosting your buns.

Sounds like some food has got behind the shield covering the magnetron or wave guide. Look inside and on the right you should see a white or beige plastic rectangle held on with a screw or two. Unplug the oven, remove this plastic cover, clean and replace. There may be one on the ceiling of the oven too, do the same with that one. It's a common problem, and it only gets worse if you leave it. Each time you cook the trapped food gets more and more burnt, eventually ending up as carbon which is conductive. Much better to do some preventative maintenance every now and then.

(This is assuming the inside of the oven is clean)

Tisn't just an idea mate, I used to repair microwaves for a living and a lot of them were sent in for repair with just that problem.

ooo the microwaves probly older then me LOL (free 'gift') so its not under warranty
should probly get a new one really but like to use things all the way to 'the end'

My phone never rang, But my microwave blew up.

I knew those phone signals where harmful
