Microwave + Tin Foil = ???

Did it once as a kid (left a spoon in Weetabix) and it scared the hell out of me.

It didn't break but since then I've avoided anything metal in a microwave :o

I've left a fork in some beans or something when i put them in the microwave once, for more than a minute (walked into other room and left it), came back in, loads of sparks and horrible noise etc. But microwave is still fine 2 years on.

I put a little bit of foil in by accident once, some really cool sparks but it still worked. I shut it off pretty quickly though.

Recently put a "microwave safe" plain plate in to warm up some food.

Next thing I know "CRACK" and there's bits of plate and semi-warm curry all over the inside of the microwave.

:(

I've never known a microwave to accept metal, but its always been common knowledge not to put metal in one so not something i do often. Although the odd bit gets in sometimes but never any damage.
