Mid 2010 Macbook Pro ram upgrade

Use Activity Monitor to see whether or not you need more memory. If you have significant page outs (ie. not a few MBs here or there), you need more.

That said, it is more than likely that you'll need more. Buy the kit from OcUK though, their price is far lower than their competition for the 8GB 1333MHz kits.

OCUK dont do the kit i need. my pro uses PC3 8500 1066mhz ram.

also just having email, safari and LR open activity monitor says i've only 500mb left on my system ram

so i'll take that as needing 8gb :)

My bad, I thought they did. 1333MHz with the mid-2010 MBPs is sketchy, so you'll want to stick with the kit that you originally specified.

And to be honest, that's cutting it close, with caching and doing more you'll likely hit the limit. Go for it :)

I don't use my mid-2010 MBP for anything more intensive than word processing. But I upped the RAM to 8GB because it was a cheap upgrade. I think it was about £30 at the time.

Also the RAM you linked to will work fine.
