mid range card for new system any ideas?

My son is looking to update his system for Uni and looking for advice in a graphics card, looking at Intel Duo Core 2 CPU, 2GB Ram new mobo and thought of putting in the ATi X1950Pro but wondered if anyone had any other thoughts, budget is limited so no high end card

Pick up a 3850Pro, they're great value at the moment. It really depends on your budget for the graphics card..

again budget related also how much gaming does he do and at what resolution?

1950 pro is a good card and can be had pre owned for £50 ish incl del failing that go for a 3850 for £110 ish
