mid range fan controller

I decided to go with the Sentry 2, in fairness a good point was made that 77% give it 4 stars or above. So thanks for that Exsurgo! and thank you to everyone else for all you efforts in helping me decide. There is much more on the market than I could find so it was good to see a broad overview.

Oh for god sake folks. Lamptron Touch. Easily the best temp-controlled fan controller - 6 channels, 30W per channel, each with its own temperature probe and a superb touch screen. Followed by the Lamptron FC5/6 then the Scythe Kaze Master/Server.

Man, I had my heart set and was just about to order one of them NZXT LXE - display looks awesome and would have fit my setup perfect.

One thing we havn't discussed here is that some fans have four pin connectors - take for example my setup:

2 x Corsair 140mm fans - 3 Pin connectors.
3 x Akasa Apaches - 4 pin connectors.

Is it possible to just break the plastic plugs and still stick the apaches into the equation or would I have to purchase some convertors? £50 is just do-able but having to spend more tips it over my budget :(

The fourth wire is only the PWM connection. The fan will run fine without it. Most fan headers'/controllers' layout and spacing will allow you to plug in a PWM fan without having to modify the fan's connector.

The NZXT sentry is a great looking fan controller but the thing needed the battery replaced every month.
Not worth the hassle.

What about the Kaze Master Pro, 6 Channel and 6 Temp Probes. I am running x6 120mm 2000rpm Sharkoons, x1 140mm Scythe Slip Stream 1700rpm & a Zalman VF-3000F GPU Cooler with x2 92mm Fans 3000rpm.

Works really well apart from there is no auto function on this so only manual control.
